Hotel Astoria - Stresa

Clean place, unbeatable and exceptionally nice location.

Good food, very good service and delightful view of the lake.

The breakfast offered croissants, bread and fruit.

Clean place with very friendly staff and incredibly beautiful view of the lake. Large bed, large bathroom and terrace and cell in the room. Great breakfast with a great selection of food options. Lovely building, absolutely perfect location close enough to central to Stresa, the old town and the boat landing for travel to the islands, and sky bar next door. Free parking in the metro parking provided. Not to mention fast wifi: D

The Astoria is in a great position on the lakeside promenade only 5 mins walk from the centre of Stresa and the lake ferry and with very helpful staff. It is a very comfortable hotel decorated in a traditional style and very well maintained. The food is very good in the restaurant - 28 euros for a 4 course dinner which we felt was excellent value. Breakfast is continental style so mostly cold meats and cheeses etc. There is also a very nice bar, and there is a swimming pool at the rear of the hotel. The guests are mostly in the 'mature' age group. Parking is also available. Would highly recommend a stay here.

The hotel has beautiful fresh flowers in public areas inside and lovely, well maintained gardens. There is ample comfortable seating in the public lounge areas and pleasant bar. It is bright and well cared for and in excellent decorative order. The views of the lake were stunning (although the poor weather prevented us from enjoying them for most of our stay). Reception and dining staff were polite, friendly and helpful at all times. The room was very clean with fresh linen every day. The hotel was less than 5 minutes walk to the town.

Breakfast menu was merely adequate with tinned fruit and the only hot dish was eggs. The room with lakeside view was substantially smaller than rear view room (which overlooked pleasant gardens and pool) while the charge was substantially more.

Only complaints are - poor handheld shower, beds are hard and pillows flat

Comfort and the convenience to do things around the hotel. Everything is within walking distance either to visit the city or take the boat.

Breakfast is not good enough for a 4 star hotel. Only American café. Should be improved.

bathroom and lavatory equipment is old, bed sheets are clean but of poor quality, breakfast is poor for Italy, unpleasant smell in the room, poor soundproof of rooms

Fine location, good service good hotel

The hotel has a fabulous location and great views!

Rooms were spartan and small; typically European. The back building..the annex... Was very loud. We didn't know our rooms were in the annex. That explains why the rate was so reasonable. We probably would have paid a higher rate for a room in the front building but were not offered the option. Service was great.

Charming hotel design, Scenic lake views, Robust local dining options

The room keys are temperamental, leading to continual trips to reception!!! Limited gym facilities leave much to be desired!!!

The staff were fine - in particular the bar man. The hotel lounge was comfortable and the bar was fine. Prices were reasonable given the location.

We did not think much of the room - we were put in an annexe behind the hotel (room 608) and felt that we probably had the worst room in the place. The room was very small and the en-siute was tiny. Breakfast wasn't the best ever - only hot food was scrambled egg and toast

Location is excellent with the front facing rooms directly over the Lake. Ideal for a break to capture the delights of Stresa area

I had such a nice time at this hotel, especially enjoying the comfy outdoor pool and the lovely whirlpool while soaking up the sun. The breakfast selection was fantastic, with plenty of sweet options to kickstart my day. Just a heads up, the room could have used a little warmth. a space heater would’ve made it perfect. 🌞
